The pinnacle of success for Mossel Bay

Pinnacle Point Golf Course (4)

Declared World Heritage Status

The accolades for the Mossel Bay region on South Africa’s Garden Route keep rolling in, whether it be on the golfing or cultural front.

With the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean, long stretches of several Blue Flag beaches, world-renowned golf courses and what is widely regarded as one of the most pleasant climates on the planet, it is no wonder Mossel Bay is a much sought-after travel destination. Whether tourists are after an outdoor adventure, sporting activity like golf or want to discover more about the region’s heritage, the area has it all.

Recently the Pinnacle Point Site Complex in Mossel Bay was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The archaeological sites going back as far as 162 000 years, have some of the earliest and best-preserved evidence of modern human behaviour.

Around the corner is Pinnacle Point Estate, home of Pinnacle Golf Course. This 18-hole links-style course is a stop on the 2025 Africa Golf Classic: Pre-trip South Africa trip and a wonderful addition to the Africa Golf Classic 2025: South Africa that will be hosted by Scott Edkins between 26 April – 2 May 2025.

Pinnacle Point’s spectacular and scenic location overlooking the Indian Ocean has garnered the course, designed by Peter Markovich and the 2011 Open champion Darren Clarke, many awards and accolades since it opened in 2006.
