Ascot Tours’ conservation and restoration initiative, Golfing for Change, is honoured to help transform the inspiring dream of relocating 2000 white rhinos into reality. 100% of our donation is going to help support Rhino #181 every step along its journey home. This means we are contributing to the largest, multi-national wildlife translocation in human history, and we will leave a lasting impact on the African continent for people and wildlife.
African Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on the total responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of protected areas. By adopting a business approach to conservation, supported by donor funding, they aim to rehabilitate each park making them sustainable in the long-term. They currently manage 22 parks across 12 countries, amounting to 20 million hectares under conservation.

These animals, which represent 15% of the world’s remaining southern white rhino population, will be translocated over the next decade to well-managed protected areas across the African continent, helping to restore a species and revitalise ecosystems to benefit Africa’s people and its biodiversity. Once returned to protected areas, they will contribute towards healthy ecosystems, provide nutrient cycling, sequester carbon, and increase tourism revenue for local people as well as the respective governments. The benefits of their rewilding will be immense for Africa and go beyond saving a species. Their return will symbolise conservation success across multiple, large wild landscapes, and will help secure ecosystem functions and biodiversity during the most critical decade for the health of our planet.
Ascot Tours’ conservation and restoration initiative, Golfing for Change, is privileged to play its part in empowering the Sweetwaters community by sponsoring the mentoring of an Asidlale Early Development Centre which will benefit about 20 children.
At iThemba Projects the guiding principle is that people—not handouts—bring lasting change. Their commitment to the Sweetwaters community reflects a long-term, holistic approach, beginning with early childhood development and extending to post-school gap year initiatives, engaging the entire community as active stakeholders.
iThemba is a registered PBO 930025842 and is audited annually by PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Early Childhood Development (ECD)
Asidlale Program Ithemba Projects’ flagship project focuses on mentoring ECD centres to improve the quality of early learning. Through long-term, one-on-one mentoring of at least 3 – 4 years and community development, the aim is to make quality ECD education the norm in Sweetwaters.
Sweetwaters Nutrition Revolution
To combat stunting caused by poor diets, families are educated about nutrition, organic gardens in 36 schools were established, and a seedling nursery is run to create sustainable food sources.
Youth Mentoring
Addressing the challenges of a fatherless generation, youth programs provide mentorship, life-skills training, and constructive activities like running clubs, life groups, and camps. Young people are empowered to make positive life choices and become community leaders.
Community-Based Construction
Unemployed community members are trained in sustainable building techniques, enabling them to construct and renovate ECD centres and other facilities. This creates jobs and builds vital infrastructure using eco-friendly technologies.
