The journey starts at Mfuwe Lodge, a comfortable base near the entrance to South Luangwa National Park. Then it is off into the wilderness for an epic walking experience. In North Luangwa, Mwaleshi Camp will be the base. It is one of Zambia’s most remote and respected walking safari camps.

Your clients will explore untouched areas not accessible by vehicle, enjoy meals under the stars, and fly between parks to maximise their time in the bush. The itinerary is fully supported, offering both adventure and comfort in the heart of the African wilderness.

Day 1

South Luangwa National Park

Arrival at South Luangwa National Park
Fly into Mfuwe Airport via Lusaka. A private transfer will then take you to Mfuwe Camp inside South Luangwa National Park, where you’ll stay for the next three nights.

The afternoon is for relaxation and a sunset game drive to ease into the park’s rhythms with the chance to spot animals like elephants and hippos.

Days 2 - 3

South Luangwa National Park

Discover the wonders of South Luangwa on morning and afternoon walking safaris, covering between eight and ten kilometres per day. Learn to read animal tracks, identify bird calls and understand the ecosystem on a deeper level.

Close encounters with wildlife under the guidance of armed scouts and seasoned guides are at the order of the day.

Day 4

North Luangwa National Park

Transfer to North Luangwa National Park
A light aircraft charter (1 hr) will take you to the North Luangwa airstrip. Accommodation is in Mwaleshi Camp, a walking-only camp in North Luangwa National Park.

In the afternoon, take a short walk to settle in and explore this less-visited part of the Luangwa Valley.

Days 5 - 6

North Luangwa National Park

North Luangwa is known for its density of predators and rare sightings, offering intense and rewarding walking safaris. Morning and late afternoon walks along the Mwaleshi River and its floodplains bring opportunities to see buffalo, Cookson’s wildebeest and even lion or wild dog.

South Luangwa National Park

Return to South Luangwa National Park
Fly back to Mfuwe Airport for one more night at Mfuwe Lodge. Reconnect with the stunning scenery and enjoy final sundowners by the Luangwa River.
