Par 72, 18 holes. The 18 Signatures Golf Course is the Legend Golf & Safari Resort‘s flagship course and the reason Legend calls itself a bucket-list destination: every hole was designed by a different Major champion or Tour winner, each putting their own signature on a single hole.
The overall masterplan was created by South African designers David Riddle and Douw van der Merwe of DDV Golf Design, conceived from the outset as the longest course in the world, with wide fairways and generous canvas for each designer’s vision.
Contributing designers include Justin Rose, Sergio GarcÃa, Pádraig Harrington, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Bernhard Langer, Trevor Immelman, Luke Donald, Colin Montgomerie and Camilo Villegas, among others.
South African Trevor Immelman opens the round with the 1st hole, and fellow South African Retief Goosen closes it out with a demanding par-5 18th.
The Extreme 19th
Par 3, 1 hole. Widely regarded as the longest and most dramatic par-3 in the world, and accessible only by helicopter. Players are flown to the summit of Hanglip Mountain, where they tee off roughly 400 metres downward toward a 1,600-square-metre green shaped like the African continent.
Conceived by course designer Graham Cooke and built by David Riddle, it functions as an exclusive, ticketed add-on experience rather than a hole in the daily routing, and completing it earns golfers membership of the Extreme 19th club.
